Waiting at Van Dorn Metro Station

My original plan for lodging when running the Marine Corps Marathon was to stay with my nephew who lives out near Dulles.   My brother and his wife would drive up from southern Virginia both to spend Halloween with their grandchildren and shuttle me from the airport to the expo to the race and back to the airport.  However, things came up and it was not possible to stay with the nephew and his family.  LA Legger friend, Jay Seashore offered to up grade his Comfort Inn room in Alexander to accommodate me.  Jay had been told that the Comfort Inn was near the Van Dorn Street Blue Line Metro Station.  While near, it was not really within walking distance, being 3/4 of mile away and up a steep hill.   There was a shuttle service, but that did not start earlier enough for us.  We took a taxi to the station.  Here I am waiting for the train.   For a picture of Jay <click here>
