A several years ago Russ Cheney worked in Southern California and maintained his home in Torrance.

Later he retired and now lives most of the time in this motor home that he uses to travel about the country visiting National Parks, state parks, bird watching and running marathons and ultra-marathons.  This is the motor home with 5 of the six members of the 50 States Marathon Club who ran the Russell B. Cheney 50-k that day.

After the picture on the left was taken, Larry Macon stepped out of back and took this picture of 5 out of 6 members.

This was the 17th year that Team Slug put on a 50-k ultra-marathon.  The main guy of Team Slug is John Harper.  John recently retired from the USAF.  Previous runs have been where he was stationed at the time including Virginia, Florida, and Korea, as well as Dover, Delaware.
