Before the race I met Ruth "Dr. Ruth" Morrow and Jay "the rookie" Seashore. I had run with these two before at the 2005 Ocala Marathon, the 2005 Hatfield McCoy Marathon.and the 2006 LA Marathon.

During an early walk break I took the picture on the left and a few miles further I took the picture on the right. In these early miles the marathoners and half-marathoners were running together.

These pictures were taken on walk breaks before the half-marathon turn around. The bike path on the left was near the turn abound point.

My son Ed's office was near Mile 12. He and his wife Laura and son Jack came out to see me run by.

This portion of the route is at Mile 18 where this wide road had been closed for the marathon.
