Jeannie's Tribute
I
am STUNNED and very sadden by this news.
The
Al Vargas I got to know this past year and a half was like a 'superman'.
He never knew when to stop running.
He had a dream to run faster and faster.
I remember Al best whenever he would come from behind passing me and
saying 'GO JEANNIE, GO' at so many 5/10K races.
His enthusiasm was very stimulating that you just gotta love him. He was
a man never without a smile or a big hug for me. I'm so fortunate to have
known him first in the L.A. Legger Family; and then the NIKE Club Run
L.A. Al used to tell me how very much he love these NIKE mid-week training runs
to improve his speed and the chance to social.
He was a very kind man, always offering a helping hand.
Al
will be MISSED! I will THANK GOD for having bought this man into my life.
Al died doing something he love and he is going on to another shining
place. May our thoughts and prayers bring comfort and a source of inner strength
to his family and friends.
As
Jackie says it best.... with the
celebration of his death, we runners, are reminded how LIFE is so delicate.
Enjoy life, LOVE life, Appreicate life and most of all LIVE life.
